One of the top 50 Fish & Chip Shops in the UK

We have just been awarded as one of the top 50 Fish & Chip shops in the UK by Fry Magazine.

We were mystery shopped and we scored 99%. There are some really good Fish & Chip shops out there and competition was hard. To get in the top 50 a score of 96% or more was needed.

I would like to say a big Thank you to all our staff for all their hard work and to all our custromers for your support.

Ali & Dave Wells

Can I ask, what oil or fat do you use for frying your chips .. in the world of veggies .. do you think that chip shops display what oils or fats they use when serving good quality fish and chips ..

Having once been a vegetarian I always expected that the onus was on me to find out if what I was planning to order was suitable for me, unless it was labelled 'V'. None of our food is advertised as vegetarian as we cook with beef dripping. At Wellies our staff are trained to answer questions about our ingredients, or to find the answer. Businesses cannot be expected to notify customers of every ingredient in their shop, but customers who need to know about possible allergens, or ingredients for religious or lifestyle choices should be informed correctly
We have previously advertised beef dripping as a positive to the flavour of our product. When the menu extended we had to remove this. In light of this I have added it back to the advertising on our website.
